Tallinn, downtown: Viru Keskus The new shopping mall at Hotel Viru is called Viru Keskus (keskus = "center"). And inside, it's as western as you could want. They even have escalators. The Baltics' version of Starbucks is called Double Coffee, which is slightly more than a cafe, and slightly less than a restaurant. But the prices are damn good. For now. And there are at least five flower shops in Viru Keskus that I counted. This is Lena and Kertu-- they've been friends for a long time, and Kertu's even been to Fort Wayne to visit, back in winter of 2000. |
